Report & Appeals
Effective Date: July 20, 2026
Whether you've run into someone breaking the rules or you believe a moderation action against you was a mistake, here's how it works.
How to report someone
- Open the member list or message in your chat.
- Tap Report on the user you want to flag.
- Choose a reason (harassment, spam, explicit content, scam, etc.).
- Our moderation team reviews the report and takes action if needed.
Reports are confidential — the reported user is never told who filed the report.
What we do with reports
Depending on what we find, we may:
- Issue a warning.
- Temporarily mute the account.
- Remove the user from a room.
- Delete offending messages.
- Permanently ban the account.
- Report severe or illegal activity to the appropriate authorities.
If you've been actioned
If your account was muted, kicked, or banned and you believe it was a mistake, you can appeal. When you appeal, please include:
- The email or username on your account.
- Roughly when the action happened.
- A short explanation of why you think it was an error.
How to submit an appeal
Email support@talkingstage.io from the address linked to your account. We review appeals in the order received and will respond with our decision.
Appeal outcomes
- Overturned — the action was a mistake and your access is restored.
- Upheld — the action stands after review.
- Reduced — a permanent ban may be shortened to a temporary one in some cases.
Repeated or severe violations, and attempts to evade bans, generally will not be overturned.
Abusing the system
Filing false reports in bad faith, or spamming appeals, is itself a violation of our Terms and may result in action against your account.
